Calendars are funny. They tell you when you're supposed to celebrate things. They also tell you to keep track of your life. Sometimes they tell you that you've lived for 64 years and haven't done anything with yourself. And sometimes they tell you that you've stuck around for 365 days at something and that that's an achievement. Today a calendar tells me that one year back this day was my first day at my first job. This means a lot of things have happened between then and now, some good and some not so much.
For instance, there have been a lot of early hours, late hours and extra work days. There have also been a lot of, "I suck at this... I quit!" moments, without the "quitting" part. There have been a fair share of screw ups and a not-so-fair share of Superwoman days. There have been moments of glory and moments of nothingness, moments of "There isn't enough time" and a slow & painful realization of the fact that there's never going to be enough time. There's been work to love and work to hate, days to remember and days to forget.
And between all of this, what sucks the most is having to finally give in after one year and agree to move out of my sheltered little place because of two things that aren't even two weeks old. Ah, very.
